THIS IS A DEMO VERSION OF ALARMCLOCK. IT WILL EXPIRE AFTER 50 ALARMS.

================
About AlarmClock
================

AlarmClock is the ultimate alarm clock for the Newton(tm).
This is for all those who forget to bring their travel clocks
on business trips and during vacation, have bad experiences with
absent-minded hotels, or just do not like the current alarm
clock implementation.

AlarmClock is loud, annoying, and configurable, exactly what
you are looking for in an travel clock!

============================
What's new in AlarmClock 2.6
============================

  o If a user does not have NewtonID installed,
    AlarmClock will still work ... it just won't
    register until the user installs NewtonID.
  o Fixed a bug that caused AlarmClock to crash on
    startup if the user hadn't installed NewtonID.
  o Removed the "Use System Alarm Settings" preference.
  o Added a "Backlight off on ring" so the backlight
    doesn't turn on everytime AlarmClock activates.

=============================
What's new in AlarmClock 2.5?
=============================

  o Fixed a bug that caused alarms to not go off after
    the user has set one.
  o System sound volume is restored when an alarm is stopped
    or snoozed.

=============================
What's new in AlarmClock 2.4?
=============================

  o Revised support for NewtonID. You need to have created
    for yourself a NewtonID for this application to run.
  o Changed the registration code scheme. Previous registration
    codes for AlarmClock 2.3 and below no longer work in
    AlarmClock 2.4.
  o Added a pref for controlling the delay between alarm rings.
    Choose from 400 milliseconds to 3 seconds.
  o Changed the about screen.

=============================
What's new in AlarmClock 2.3?
=============================

  o Fixed a conflict with BarKeep that prevented AlarmClock
    from operating properly.
  o Setting the clock from the digital clock face now automatically
    sets the alarm.

=============================
What's new in AlarmClock 2.2?
=============================

  o QuickAlarms now automatically set the alarm when chosen.
  o Backlight turns on when alarms go off.
  o Update the about screen.
  o Increased number of alarms before disabling to 100.
  o Added registration directly to AlarmClock.

===================
AlarmClock Features
===================

  o LOUD, the loudest sound ever from your Newton with AlarmClock!

  o Large Stop and Snooze buttons. You won't have to hunt and peck for
    the Stop and Snooze buttons any longer.

  o Auto Wakeup. Turn off your Newton and the alarm will still go
    off at the appropriate time!

  o Auto Shutoff. If the alarm goes off and you are not there, AlarmClock!
    will shut itself off after a user-configurable delay. You do not
    have to worry about draining your precious battery!

  o Adjustable Snooze Delay. Like to snooze for longer than 10 minutes? Shorter?
    AlarmClock! puts the power to control your snoozing in your hands.

  o Recurring Alarm. AlarmClock! can optionally reset itself 24 hours
    ahead after you click on the stop button.

  o Power Switch. The Newton's power switch acts as a stop or snooze button.

  o Extras Icon. The Extras icons changes to reflect whether an alarm has
    been set or not.

===================
System Requirements
===================

AlarmClock requires Newton OS 2.x and 36K of storage space.

Users with 1.x Newtons should use instead to version 1.3 of
AlarmClock.

AlarmClock requires a NewtonID for registration purposes.

=====================
Installing AlarmClock
=====================

AlarmClock is installed like any Newton package, using the Newton
Backup Utility (NBU), the Newton Connection Utilities (NCU), or
any third-party package downloading utility.

================
Setting an alarm
================

1) Digital Clock View

   o Tap on the view labelled, "Alarm: xx:xx am/pm" and a digital
     set clock view will appear. Change the time and close the
     digital set clock view to save your changes.

2) Analog Clock View

   o Tap and drag the hour and minute hands to adjust the alarm
     time.

====================
Turning on the alarm
====================

Simply tap on the alarmToggle button (to the right of the analog
clock view). When the alarm is on, the button will be highlighted
and labelled, "ON." When there is no alarm set, the button will be
labelled, "OFF" and will not be highlighted.

===================
Setting Preferences
===================

1) Tap on the Info Button (lower left of application) and choose "Prefs."

2) The preferences view will appear, allowing you to configure AlarmClock
   to your preferences.

3) You can adjust the delay between alarm rings. Choose from between
   400 milliseconds to 3 seconds.

4) You can change the snooze and auto shutoff delays by choosing a value
   from the picker or writing in your own value.

5) Power Switch allows you to programmatically stop or snooze AlarmClock
   using the power switch.

6) Daily Alarm will automatically create a new alarm 24 hours ahead
   in the future after you tap on stop.

7) Use System Alarm Settings will make AlarmClock use the settings set in
   the Alarm prefs roll.

==========
Known Bugs
==========

1) There's a slight bug in the program when users are set in 24-hour
   time. The am/pm radio buttons may not show their names properly.

2) If you use the analog clock to set the time and move from am to pm
   or from pm to am, the am/pm radio buttons may not properly update.
   The time, as shown in the alarmText view is correct, however.
